Most of the female singers felt the same way about Diane as I did, she says. We saw her as a stuck-up bitch with a small voice and big ambition. All my life I've wondered what was the big deal with Diana Ross? I just never got her appeal. Still don't. Nice to read that someone in the industry, and from an era when singers were pure, agrees with me.

Mr Tri, it just hit me....Beyonce` is this generation's DR........leaves a group to go solo.............hyped by a dude that's fucking her (Berry Gordy/Jay Z)...............not the best singer of her group, but the most charistmatic (arguably) The comparison is valid, Ithink.
Dead on comparison, JP! Though I like Bey, it aint cause of her singing. I find her remarkably pleasant to my eyes. Just fine! Diana...eh, not so much. Even in her prime. Different strokes (Barry reference intended) I guess.
Diana was VERY aggressive back in the day. She wasn't the best-looking or most talented, but she was the most willing...if you know what I mean. She wanted fame and fortune...NOTHING was going to stop her. A lot of the girls were still quite prim and "churchy"; she wasn't. That was how she hooked Berry Gordy.
Hi Darlin' got damn it if I was not married, I'd make you my Diana LOLOL, what's up, Kiddo?
LOL! That would make you Berry, right? LOL!Doing great. Waiting for the fog to lift and enjoy another gorgeous day! About to bust a sweat with a nice workout. And you, my dear?
hehehe, nice pun......................say Sir, let me ask you (thread hijack for a sec.) - what's your take on the CPS strike ending?i saw no other threads, and - who better to ask about Chicago schools than a man in Chicago. what was about, Mr Tri - wages? test score evals?I am glad those kids are back thoughsorry for the thread jack, folks.
It was about the President's good friend, Mayor Emanuel trying to do to the city teachers and ALL CITY UNIONS, what Paul Ryan is doing to unions in Wisconsin. Emanuel took away a pay raise that had been previously negotiated for the teachers. He tried to circumvent the collectively bargained rules which were already in place. He basically told the teachers, "Fuck you and your union!" "Shit will be my way!" But he didn't count the massive support teachers got from parents as well other unions. Downtown Chicago was virtually shut down three days in a row, as teachers and supporting unions rallied and protested. Emanuel is supposedly a Democrat. But all of the policies he seeks to employ are straight from the Republican handbook. All you need to know is Romney and Ryan supported his stance during the strike. He's a classic bully! That's why the President removed him as Chief of Staff, and sent his ass back here. During private negotiations with Chicago Teachers Union Presiden Karen Lewis, he cursed her out and called her a "BITCH". That's how he operates. But Mrs Lewis shoved it up his ass during the strike negotiations. Called him a bully and a LIAR right there, before the news cameras. He went into hiding until the strike ended, yesterday. Next on his hit list, us. We're currently working without a contract, as are the firemen. Negotiations are already contentiuos. But unlike the teachers, firemen and we aren't legally allowed to strike. No way, he wins another Mayoral term. He's pissed off everyone. Even those who voted for him. Truth be told, the only reason he won this term was because the President endorsed him. And this being Chicago, Blacks turned out in droves to support the President's man. That won't happen again.
*speechless*this is some major shade here tho @Throughout A Woman Like Me, LaVette refers to Ross as Diane,
