Talk about a biopic of the life of Jackie Robinson has hit fever pitch. After months of speculation as to how the film titled “42″ would look, the first trailer of the film has hit the internet.
 
Starring newcomer Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford, and Alan Tudyk, “42″ recounts the life of baseball innovator Jackie Robinson. Jackie Robinson became famous for being the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball. “42″ depicts the struggles he had to face while growing up and parallels those obstacles to those he faced when he joined the Brooklyn Dodgers.

i hope the story shows his life after baseball.....such as campaigning for civil rights in 1960s, political views on vietnam war/black nationalists and the tragic relationship between him and his son....

He accomplished a lot in his relatively short life - he was only 53 when he died.  I saw the highly sanitized '50s movie in which he starred, when I was a kid.  It was quite inspirational; in fact, I read all the biographical info I could about him after view the movie on TV.

Thank gawd they picked some newcomers, Black movies need some new blood and not some 2 bit R&B singers and mediocre model actors. Looks like its well written too. Hope its an Oscar contender
